An Enduring Covenant Between
The People of the United Kingdom
His Majesty's Government
– and –
All those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces of the Crown
And their Families
The first duty of Government is the defence of the realm. Our Armed Forces fulfil that responsibility on behalf of the Government, sacrificing some civilian freedoms, facing danger and, sometimes, suffering serious injury or death as a result of their duty. Families also play a vital role in supporting the operational effectiveness of our Armed Forces. In return, the whole nation has a moral obligation to the members of the Naval Service, the Army and the Royal Air Force, together with their families. They deserve our respect and support, and fair treatment.
Those who serve in the Armed Forces, whether Regular or Reserve, those who have served in the past, and their families, should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services. Special consideration is appropriate in some cases, especially for those who have given most, such as the injured and the bereaved.
This obligation involves the whole of society: it includes voluntary and charitable bodies, private organisations, and the actions of individuals in supporting the Armed Forces. Recognising those who have performed military duty unites the country and demonstrates the value of their contribution. This has no greater expression than in upholding this Covenant.
1.1 We, Letlilo, will endeavour to uphold the key principles of the Armed Forces Covenant:
Members of the Armed Forces Community should not face disadvantages arising from their service in the provision of public and commercial services.
In some circumstances special provision may be justified, especially for those who have given the most, such as the injured or bereaved.
2.1 Letlilo proudly recognises the exceptional value that serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and military families bring to the nation - and to our business.
Founded and operated by British and Australian Armed Forces veterans, Letlilo is committed to building more than just a modern property platform. We are here to create opportunity, restore stability, and honour service - by embedding Armed Forces support across every level of our company. Our Covenant commitment is not a formality - it is part of who we are.
We will uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant by taking the following actions:
Letlilo will regularly feature stories, interviews, and highlights of Armed Forces personnel and veterans on our social media channels to raise awareness and celebrate their contributions.
We will actively seek partnerships with local councils, veterans' organisations, military charities, and community groups to participate in events, share resources, and collaborate on outreach programs.
Letlilo commits to issuing press releases and media statements on key Armed Forces occasions and corporate initiatives.
A permanent Veterans & Community section on our website will house our Covenant pledges, resources for Armed Forces personnel, news updates, and a calendar of relevant events.
We will place job advertisements through trusted veteran employment networks including the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), Forces Families Jobs portal, and other specialist veteran job boards to reach qualified candidates directly.
Any veteran applicant meeting the minimum essential criteria for a role will be guaranteed an interview, ensuring fair and unbiased consideration of military experience and skills.
Letlilo HR and management teams will be trained to understand how military roles and competencies map onto civilian roles, and will translate these effectively in job descriptions and candidate assessments.
Experienced veteran employees will be available as mentors, providing guidance on workplace culture, skill development, and career progression to help new veteran hires transition smoothly.
Veterans will have access to tailored training programs, certification opportunities, and workshops to build on their existing skills and expand their career pathways within Letlilo.
Recognising that military spouses and partners often face unique employment challenges, Letlilo encourages their applications and ensures hiring processes are accommodating.
Vacancies will be advertised on platforms specifically designed to reach service families, such as Recruit for Spouses and Forces Families Jobs.
Where possible, we will offer flexible, part-time, and remote working arrangements to help accommodate childcare needs, deployments, and other family commitments.
We provide flexible leave options before, during, and after deployments, enabling spouses and partners to support their families during challenging periods without career penalty.
Work policies will be designed with consideration for childcare availability, school term dates, and the pressures of relocation.
Letlilo actively encourages reservists on staff by offering clear policies that accommodate their training, mobilisation, and deployment commitments without fear of job loss or career disruption.
Additional paid or unpaid leave will be available to reservist employees for training exercises, mobilisation, and operational deployments.
The company promotes Reserve service as a form of professional development, recognising the leadership and skills gained through reservist activities as valuable assets in the workplace.
Reservist contributions will be formally recognised at company events and in internal communications, fostering a culture of respect and appreciation.
Employees involved in cadet organisations will be supported with flexible working hours or additional leave for camps, training weekends, and leadership events.
Letlilo values cadet leadership as a vital part of developing young people's skills and will promote opportunities for employees to engage with youth leadership.
We will seek formal partnerships with cadet units in Staffordshire and Cheshire, offering logistical support, sponsorship, and potential recruitment pathways for cadet members.
Experience gained through cadet leadership roles will be acknowledged in our recruitment and internal development programs as evidence of leadership, responsibility, and commitment.
Letlilo will support and participate in key Armed Forces events such as Armed Forces Day, Reserves Day, the Poppy Appeal, and Remembrance Day.
Company-led initiatives may include fundraising drives, attendance at memorial ceremonies, and hosting awareness-raising events to promote understanding and respect within the wider community.
Staff will be given time and encouragement to participate in these events, including paid leave or flexible working hours where applicable.
Letlilo will build long-term partnerships with veterans' charities focused on welfare, homelessness prevention, and mental health, engaging in regular fundraising activities and awareness campaigns.
Staff will be encouraged and supported to volunteer with relevant charities, with flexible working arrangements offered to facilitate this engagement.
The company will provide resources such as meeting spaces, marketing support, and logistical help to charity partners where possible.
Emphasis will be placed on supporting initiatives addressing veteran mental health and wellbeing, reflecting the founders' understanding of these critical issues.
Letlilo offers discounted property management services to serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and their families, reducing the financial burden associated with housing.
The company actively collaborates with housing associations, veteran charities, and social housing providers to identify and develop solutions for veterans at risk of homelessness or housing insecurity.
Using Letlilo's platform and network, we explore pathways to provide secure housing and priority access to accommodation for veterans transitioning to civilian life.
We aim to pilot and promote subsidised housing schemes or rent assistance programs in partnership with local authorities and charitable organisations to ease the housing transition for veterans and their families.
Letlilo will provide educational resources and advice to veterans on navigating the housing market, tenancy rights, and financial planning for homeownership.
Letlilo's leadership team is proudly composed of veterans who have lived the realities of military life, including operational deployments, the complexities of transitioning to civilian careers, and the sacrifices made by service personnel and their families. This first-hand experience gives us a profound and personal understanding of the challenges faced by the Armed Forces community. We don't simply acknowledge these challenges from a distance - we have walked in those shoes, and that perspective shapes everything we do.
This lived experience fuels a deep sense of empathy, motivating us to move beyond symbolic gestures to deliver concrete, meaningful action. We recognise that effective support requires more than good intentions; it demands practical programs, accessible resources, and flexible policies that directly improve the lives of veterans, reservists, service spouses, and their families.
Innovation lies at the heart of our approach. We are dedicated to exploring and implementing new ways to support the Armed Forces community, whether through leveraging cutting-edge technology, forging strategic partnerships with veteran organisations and housing providers, or developing unique service offerings tailored to the evolving needs of service personnel and their families.
At Letlilo, we take a holistic view of what it means to support the Armed Forces community. We understand that secure housing forms the foundation of personal and family stability, that meaningful employment is essential for independence and confidence, and that recognising the sacrifices made by service personnel is a fundamental moral responsibility.
2.2 Transparency is a core value at Letlilo. We are committed to openly sharing our Armed Forces Covenant pledges, progress updates, and case studies through our website and public communications.
By making this information readily accessible, we hold ourselves accountable not only to the Armed Forces community but also to our clients, partners, and staff.
Our dedication to the Armed Forces Covenant is deeply woven into our internal culture. We ensure that every employee understands the significance of these commitments through comprehensive training and regular communication.
Letlilo maintains open and accessible channels for feedback from veterans, reservists, military families, and other members of the Armed Forces community, as well as from our customers and partners.
To ensure we remain accountable and forward-looking, Letlilo will publish regular reports - either annually or bi-annually - that detail our achievements, challenges, and strategic plans.
